MJ's Major Melt-down

Can't believe the tantrum MJ threw over the weekend. Grow up already! World class athletes can be so difficult. It was a major blow-up over ... get this, Hanna Montana! MJ and I were on the sport-court doing the usual Sunday afternoon workout, which we had to start a little later than usual cus of DJ's game going late (whole nother story). Anyway, we're on left handed lay-up number 86 of 100 and only have 250 shots left in the regiment when she melts down and refuses to shoot. Flat out refuses. I'm talking crying, screaming, kicking the ball. So, Ballnchain comes out and sides with the pre-Madonna. Big surprise. Turns out MJ just wanted to catch a lame Hanna Montana show. Seriously. MJ's been getting too much freedom lately and it's going to come back and bite us. She actually got out of hand-eye-coordination camp last weekend for a sleep-over! They did makeovers and crap. We'll have to make it up soon, can't afford to get behind and since I feel a major growth spurt coming on the whole hand-eye-coordination is critical. I'm putting my foot down. World class athletes need to train like world class athletes. I told her she can watch all the Hanna Montana she wants - when she's about 50. Ridiculous!
Gotta go, Favre v Sanchez.

Sick No-No

Roy Holiday (I know I know, but I like this spelling better) nice job dude! Could have had more $ somewhere else, but would probably be playing golf right now instead of pitching the first ML no-hitter in playoffs since before most people without artificial hips and knees were born. It was so inspiring. Seriously. I stayed up late and snuck down in the basement to the old VHS cabinet and found my last n0-hitter. You can't believe how similar! Freaky similar. I was so hyped I didn't even sleep - which makes it a good thing today is an office day - if I were on the road I'd be dead.

It's like Roy watched my game and copied my strategy. I mean I was on fire that day! My first pitches were crazy strikes. I do have to give him props, I walked 2 that day vs his 1. And the last play - a throw from the catcher to first. Exactly the same. No joke. Ya I was throwing in the high 50's. Ya it was against the worst team in the division. Ya it was a team with 3 girls. Ok, so I was only 9 years old. But if you take away Roy actually making a living as a pitcher/this being the playoffs/the best league on the planet/national television/the road to the world series/and pitching against like full-grown men who can crush it - if you take away all that - we (me and Roy) are like basically the same. I should have his people contact my people, we could exchange autographs and stuff. I know he'd love to see my footage, it's almost like he already did!

Personalzd Playts

Sweet! I got my new plates today. Are you ready for this? PLAYMKR Can't wait to see all the jealous/drooling/wish I would of thought of it first looks. So basically I'm the only one in the state with all this cred - and there's only 49 other possible copycats in the good ole US of A. Wait. Does Puerto Rico count? I mean, are they in or out? They're not even like a good 6th man yet, not invited into the huddle you know. Kind of like a Mascot. Not really part of the team. I'm not a racist. I have nothing against Puerto Rico or Puerto RicoAmericans - but I have to admit I like the symetricalness of the 50 white stars on old glory. I think they'd be legit if it weren't for the million dollar question - where do we put that random 50th star?

Come on Puerto Rico, if you're on the team, then be all in. They use our money right? You either make the cut or you don't. How can you wear the colors if you didn't make the roster? (this is a sports meda-4. You get it, it compares anything in the non-sports world to a sports thing so you can more easily understand and everyone with a brain knows sports meda-4's are like the most basic level of human understanding)

Definition: Meda-4. I love how now that I'm a professional (almost) blogger I can shrink words anyway I want to. It's so "bloggy."

Go Big or Go Home

Been sleepin on the couch since Saturday. Ballnchain is really T.O'ed this time. Honestly, the silent treatment has been a nice break - at least it's better than the tirade she was on for about 3 hours after the "incident." How'd I know the chic was going to stick her nose in my way at the last second? My best friend Rocky (what was his dad thinking? He couldn't punch out his little sister) had a work team for a weekend softball tournament. They needed a big bat so after he begged/pleaded/bribed me I gave in. Co-ed is so weak. I gave it up after I realized most of the "co-eds" were not all about winning (the ban issued by the USSSA and the court injunction had something to do with that as well). Anyway, this was non-league "just for fun" so I wasn't inelligible.
So Rocky's boss invites his sister-in-law, Chiffon. Seriously? Nice job whoever your parents are. Bottom of the the 7th, bases loaded, 2 outs, we're up 1. Ya I'm playing left center and she's playing right. Ya it's a lot of ground to cover. Ya you're supposed to call the ball - I didn't think she meant it. Ya I heard Rocky and his boss (and tons of others) tell me to leave it. But, we needed it. C'mon. What's an athlete supposed to do? I'm calling her off and she's not backing down. I'm close and I'm like "I've got it I've got it I've got it" and she's like "I've got it." I'm totally yelling louder than her and every athlete knows he who's most committed gets the ball and as I dive she's diving too (more like tripping) and my left shoulder barely skims her nose and the next thing I know she's hysterical and blood is all over my lucky shirt and basically the whole crowd is sprinting out and yelling obscenities at me. Hey, A-Rod never let a few unsavory words stop him.
So Chiffon's getting all the attention I'm getting an ear full. Here's the problem. I've got the ball! In my mitt! I caught it! But that's lost on everyone, who's going biserk and calling 911, and screaming for ice and towels and all that. I knew she was milking it. I barely grazed her - must be a real bleeder. Anyway, one day they'll look back and realize what hall-of-fame-catch it was. Her nose will be fine (okay, so Rocky tells me she needs surgery to get it straight again but those plastic surgeons these days can do anything). A nose is a nose, you see dozens, maybe hundreds a day. You don't see a catch like mine everyday. I knew I should've brought the HD camera and tri-pod.
Rocky will probably keep his job. His boss's sister-in-law will probably stay in the bleachers from now on. My wife will probably forgive me. Our "therapist" will probably milk this for another 6 months of over-priced "treatment." Probably nobody will appreciate my spectacular catch. I'll probably stick with men's-only league (probably have no choice).
